¿Qué tienen en común la tecnología virtual, los relatos místicos y el otro marginal? Todas son constructos sin cuerpo. ¿Cómo es que la tecnología virtual no tiene cuerpo? Desde la interacción con el usuario y las terminologías que utilizamos para referirnos a ella, hasta las estéticas de diseño en sus artefactos y publicidad, la tecnología digital desde el año 2000 se ha cobijado en un cómodo discurso de inmaterialidad. Los elementos que constituyen el hardware se esconden detrás de las pulidas pantallas y la minimalista ergonomía; elementos profundamente geológicos y, por lo tanto, químicos. ¿Cómo es que lo virtual tiene relación con lo místico? Entre sectas del ciberespacio, lecturas de tarot por lives de TikTok y auto-hipnosis de ASMR, la cumbre de las asépticas (escépticas) ciencias nos devuelve nuestro reflejo en el espejo negro (la pantalla) y reconocemos a un narciso acongojado por las preguntas metafísicas irresueltas por las promesas de la modernidad. What do virtual technology, mystical stories and the marginal-other have in common? They are all disembodied constructs. How come virtual technology has no body? From the interaction with the user and the terminologies we use to refer to it, to the design aesthetics in its artifacts and advertising, digital technology since the year 2000 has been sheltered in a comfortable discourse of immateriality. The elements that make up the hardware are hidden behind the polished screens and minimalist ergonomics which, at the contrary, are profoundly geological and, therefore, constituted by chemical elements. How is it that the virtual is related to the mystical? Between sects of cyberspace, tarot readings through TikTok lives and ASMR self-hypnosis. The summit of the aseptic (skeptical) sciences returns to us our reflection on a black mirror (the screen). We there recognize a narcissus distressed by metaphysical questions which stay unresolved by the promises of modernity. This narcissus is the cognotariat (cognitive proletariat, my generation). As a millennial altar of despair and precariousness where virtual technologies seek to fill the gaps in the metaphysical realm, the project takes up the critical possibilities of giving a body to my three categories (technology, mysticism and marginality). Between mineral tables, apachetas and tarot cell phones, the geological, symbolic and capitalist bases enter into a display of ingredients ready to start operating.
